Job Description

Technical Representative - Asia Pacific (Based in Tokyo, Japan)  

Summary:

Visits distributor representatives and customers to determine technical service support needs; provides needed support such as training in repair and maintenance processes, troubleshooting. Evaluates distribution within assigned area and reports factual information to the manager to assure distributors can effectively represent Company products and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical leadership in maintenance, operation and repair of equipment, and develops relationships with distributors, technical organizations and assigned accounts to ensure that technical issues are resolved in a timely and customer-focused manner.
  • Plans, manages and conducts service training and marketing (technology or service oriented) programs tailored to key accounts and distributors.
  • Execute Customer Service Management (CSM) program to improve distributors' efficiency and productivity to enhance distributors core competencies and help create a competitive advantage in the Aftermarket/Aftersales arena.
  • Manages distributors’ network (Aftermarket & Service only) and conducts warranty and DSI audits to ensure conformity with procedure and process in providing service support to customers.
  • Evaluates and negotiates policy settlement of claims by customers and distributors relating to products, parts and warranty issues.
  • Responsible for parts revenues in North East Asia region.

Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree holder
  • Good command of English
  • Good engineering knowledge in internal combustion engines (e.g. Gasoline 2 & 4 stroke engines and Diesel engines) and DC electric system (e.g. DC electric motors, motor speed controller, etc.).
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams and apply this knowledge to troubleshooting diagnostics.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and Explorer (Internet).
  • Ability to support the launch of new products or projects in the region.
  • Frequent contact with all levels of CCI, customers and strategic accounts which requires excellent interpersonal skills and communications.
  • Ability to mentor and train service engineers or managers within distributions and customers. Excellent problem solving skills in technical problems that embody all necessary features within target cost and schedules.
  • Ability to influence and effect positive change in distributions' or customers' technical service support team or department.
  • Minimum Experience: 5 years
